Pain

Treatment of Pain With Acupuncture:
Acupuncture is well known for treating pain.  The National Institutes of Health recognized acupuncture as an effective treatment for pain in 1997.  Types of pain treated include headaches, neck pain, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic pain, menstrual cramps, surgical pain and arthritis.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treats pain by looking at the body as a whole and considering other symptoms that may be occurring concurrently, to form a diagnosis based on the total picture.

Acupuncture and Chinese herbs are super effective in speeding recovery. Many sports teams including Sf 49ers, NY Knicks and Olympic athletes now enlist Acupuncturists to decrease recovery time from injuries and surgery. Acupuncture decreases inflammation and increases circulation. There are many natural Chinese herbs with no side effects that do the same plus they generate tissue, flesh and bind blood vessels greatly speeding recovery.

What To Expect:
Each treatment is personalized to accommodate the individual’s pain.  We also use treatments such as moxabustion, e-stem, or cupping to help make the pain subside as quickly as possible.  We usually recommend 1-3 treatments per week for 4 weeks concurrent with a Chinese herbal formula.  After re-evaluation treatments may continue.
