Herbs for Lowering Cholesterol -Naturally!
Acupuncture and Chinese herbs for lowering cholesterol are an excellent alternative to the western class of drugs called “Statins”. The "Clearesterol" is an herbal medicine formula made up of several herbs shown in research to lower cholesterol and blood pressure including Jue Ming Zi, Shan Zha and Jiao Gu Lan. They are combined with other herbs to create a balanced effective formula.

In our clinical experience the following is what works well for our patients. Please adhere to a good healthy diet with lots of vegetables and any other dietary suggestions given to you by your MD.

Get your blood tested to know your cholesterol levels. (You don't have to but it's good to have levels to compare.)

Take “Clearesterol” For 2 to 3 months according to the body weight chart to lower cholesterol, and get Acupuncture 2-4x a month to help lower blood pressure, move the blood and break up stagnation.

Psyllium Husk:   During the first 2-3 months, 3-4 times per week take One 500 to 700 mg capsule of Psyllium Husk during the same 2-3 months.  I like the “Now Foods Psyllium Husk 700mg with Pectin” sold on Amazon.
-*Psyllium Husk binds to cholesterol in the large intestine and prevents reabsorption.

After 2-3 months, get Cholesterol levels tested again.
When cholesterol levels are at an Optimum level Reduce dosage of “Clearesterol” by half for maintenance.

Dosage based on body weight. Take for 2-3 months to lower cholesterol to optimum levels. Then lower dose by about half for weekly maintenance. Most effective when used with weekly Acupuncture.

It is especially effective for digestion of red meat or oily and fatty foods. Used in combination with other herbs, Shan Zha can activate blood circulation and remove blood stagnation. This herb has been used in formulas to treat hypertension, coronary artery disorders, angina and hypercholesterolemia.

Research: In one study, 219 patients with angina related to coronary artery disease were treated with a preparation of Shan Zha three times daily, for 4 weeks. The study revealed an overall effective rate of 92.2%, with 47.1% showing improvements. [1]

Cold and slightly bitter, Jiao Gu Lan (Rhizoma seu Herba Gyostemmatis) acts on the Lung and Heart meridians, nourishing and strengthening the body. It is commonly used to treat chronic disorders, such as asthma, migraines and problems of the gastrointestinal tracts. Due to its focus on the Heart channel, Jiao Gu Lan can lower blood pressure and is excellent for treatment of hypertension and coronary diseases. Jiao Gu Lan also clears heat and eliminates toxins from the body to reduce swelling and inflammation. It has been used to successfully treat gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, cystitis and other conditions characterized by heat and toxins accumulation.

Research: In one study, 129 patients were divided into two groups. One group was given herb formula containing Jiao Gu Lan, while the other was given placebo pills. Cool in nature, Dan Sen invigorated blood circulation and can treat arthritis, redness or swelling.
