How does acupuncture work?

What does acupuncture feel like, does it hurt?
Today’s acupuncture needles are extremely fine in diameter – about the thickness of two human hairs. Because the needles are so small, often to the astonishment of our first-time visitors who take the plunge, acupuncture does not hurt.
